http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm The British equivalent link for travel from the UK is: http://www.dft.gov.uk/transportforyou/airtravel/airportsecurity/ If you have any doubt about an item, put in a suitcase and check it to your destination.
Travel Tips

WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO OBTAIN MONEY IN ENGLAND? ATM machines remain the best deal. They are in almost every village, at all the airports, and accept all American debit and credit cards (cash advance). You will get the best exchange rate and avoid the fee you'll always pay if you exchange dollars for pounds. Make sure your PIN and card work before you leave the U.S. You can also cash traveler’s checks. Credit cards can be used in most restaurants; however, many country pubs will not accept anything but (British) cash.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN THE SUMMER? Expect cool nights and warm days, with rain at least once during your week tour. Lows at night in the summer are usually in the 50s, with daytime highs ranging from the low 70s to the high 80s.

WHAT IS THE TIME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ENGLAND AND THE US? England is 4 or 5 hours ahead of (later than) the US east coast, depending on the time of year. You can start preparing your body to lessen the effects of jet lag by getting plenty of rest the week before you depart. Also, start going to bed and getting up 30 minutes earlier than normal each day for about 4 days before departure. Try to sleep as much as possible on the flight; eyeshades, earplugs, and a neck pillow will help.

CAN DISCOVERY CYCLETOURS BOOK MY AIRFARE? This year we are not making airline reservations: however, we can and will assist you in booking the lowest airfare. The earlier you reserve your airfare, the lower the cost.
